I AM CARIBBEING is an award-winning multidisciplinary organization based in Flatbush, Brooklyn—also known as Little Caribbean NYC—that celebrates and amplifies Caribbean culture through culture, community, lifestyle & innovation.
As a leading force in cultural advocacy and destination development, I AM CARIBBEING has been instrumental in positioning Little Caribbean as a recognized hub for Caribbean heritage and community tourism—a dynamic space where visitors can experience the richness of the Caribbean Diaspora through its local businesses, culinary experiences and more.
Little Caribbean NYC has received national recognition as a premier tourist destination, with features in National Geographic and TimeOut New York, which named it one of NYC’s coolest neighborhoods. It was also honored with a 2024 Excellence in Historic Preservation Award from the Preservation League of New York State, underscoring its impact in cultural storytelling and heritage preservation.
One of its signature initiatives, the Little Caribbean Passport, offers an immersive way for visitors to explore the neighborhood, connecting them with local Caribbean-owned businesses, restaurants, and cultural landmarks. This program fosters deeper engagement with the community while promoting sustainable tourism practices.
By joining the Caribbean Tourism Organization, I AM CARIBBEING aims to further its mission of promoting Caribbean tourism, economic empowerment, and cultural storytelling on a broader scale.
