Sustainable Tourism in Action Webinar Series
From Assets to Experiences: Developing Market-Ready Community Tourism Products
Date: November 10, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. AST
Community-Based Tourism (CBT) continues to provide opportunities for Caribbean communities to diversify their tourism offerings, strengthen local entrepreneurship and retain more tourism value within communities.
However, having a compelling cultural, natural or heritage asset does not automatically create a tourism product.
The CTO’s recent Sustainable Tourism Technical Committee (STTC) survey identified product development as a major challenge and identified product development as a priority area for destination support.
Therefore, the central question for the session is:

Objective
The session will provide participants with practical insights into developing CBT products that are:
- Authentic and community-rooted
- Designed around meaningful visitor experiences
- Market-ready and commercially viable

The session will also provide students and emerging tourism professionals with a better understanding of CBT as a space for entrepreneurship, innovation and future tourism careers.
